Key Considerations to choose proper Church LED Display

Selecting the right church LED display requires balancing room size with viewing distance, camera compatibility, ambient lighting, and structural support. Key considerations include matching the pixel pitch to your congregation's seating, choosing a high refresh rate for clean broadcasts, and ensuring proper installation safety.

Here is a breakdown of the essential factors:

1. Pixel Pitch & Resolution
Pixel pitch (the distance between LEDs, measured in millimeters) determines how sharp your content looks from different distances.
Closest Row: Ensure your smallest pixel pitch (e.g., P2.5 to P2.9) looks crisp so congregants in the front row don't see individual dots.
General Rule: Divide the distance to the farthest seat by 6 to 8 to find the ideal screen height. A 16:9 aspect ratio is standard for avoiding letterboxing with lyric and presentation software.

2. Refresh Rate (Crucial for Livestreaming)
If your church records or livestreams services, refresh rate is one of the most critical specifications.
Look for a minimum refresh rate of 3,840 Hz. Panels with anything lower (like 1,920 Hz) will cause screen flickering, moiré, and rolling band artifacts on your camera feeds.

3. Brightness and Contrast
LEDs are self-illuminating and offer better contrast than projectors, but the brightness needs to match the environment: Standard indoor sanctuaries: 800 to 1,500 nits is ideal. Spaces with heavy ambient light: (e.g., skylights or stained glass), aim for 1,500 to 2,500 nits so the screen doesn't get washed out during the day.

4. Structural Engineering & Weight Load
LED video walls are heavy and consist of dozens of modular cabinets. Confirm whether the installation will be wall-mounted, flown from a truss, or ground-stacked. Old plaster or concrete walls may require structural reinforcement to bear the weight. Always consult an integrator to check load capacity.
