What is LED Screen?
An LED screen is a flat-panel display that uses an array of self-illuminating Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) as pixels to produce images and video. Known for high brightness, energy efficiency, and modular construction, they are widely used for, both indoor and outdoor applications like billboards, concert stages, and displays, offering better contrast and vibrant colors without a traditional backlight.
This video explains the basics of what an LED screen is:
Key Characteristics of LED Screens
Self-Emissive Pixels: Unlike LCDs, which use a backlight, each LED pixel in an LED screen emits its own light, providing better color accuracy and contrast.High Brightness & Visibility: LED screens are exceptionally bright, making them ideal for outdoor environments, even in direct sunlight.
Modular & Customizable: They are built using panels or modules, allowing for nearly unlimited screen sizes and shapes, including, curved and flexible displays.
Energy Efficient & Durable: They offer lower power consumption and a longer lifespan compared to traditional display technologies.
Types of LED Screens
Indoor LED Screens: Generally feature smaller pixel pitches for higher resolution, suitable for, shopping malls, conference rooms, and retail environments.Outdoor LED Screens: Built to be waterproof, durable, and bright enough for digital billboards and stadiums.
Transparent LED Screens: Designed with high transparency, often used on glass walls or windows to display content without completely blocking the view.
Flexible LED Screens: Made from flexible materials, allowing them to bend around corners or create curved visual displays.
